Pixley Berries launches its own range of Superfruit Cordials
Pixley Berries launched its own range of superfruit cordials in Waitrose on May 15th 2007.
They each contain no less than 60% pure fruit juice. We have only used single strength juices and they are free from additives, preservatives and artificial flavourings.
They are great with chilled water, delicious over ice cream or great as a mixer with white wines, sparkling wines or spirits.
"Pixley Black" makes its debut........for the joy of juice.
Selected for flavour, aroma and colour following a worldwide search for blackcurrant varieties suitable for Herefordshire's changing climate, Pixley Black enjoys its first commercial harvest and pressing in 2006.
Edward says the juice is just wonderful and it loves Herefordshire's climate and silty clay soils. It is as if it was born here.
A joy to grow, a joy to market, a joy to drink....
For information: Climate change issues first became apparent following the English winter of 1997/8, but were only identified as such during a visit to New Zealand in 2001. Pixley Black is the first of a series of varieties destined to join Ben Gairn and Ben Hope as future core varieties at Pixley Berries. It will be Pixley Berries first variety not bred in Scotland since the now obsolete Baldwin. Several of Pixley Berries present varieties will be discontinued over the next few years, casualties of climate change.
